November 24th, 2010Who was Aristotle?
October 28th, 2010Hello friends. This is all about history and for history lovers. Everyone talks about Aristotle. Who is he? What was he? Aristotle was the most important thinker of the ancient times. He is a Greek. He was a tutor to Alexander the Great. Aristotle’s father was a court doctor to Alexander’s grandfather. Aristotle went to Athens in 367 B.C when he was 18 and studied at Plato’s Academy for twenty long years. After his time in Macedonia as a tutor to Alexander, he returned to Athens where he started a school. The building of the school contains a covered walk, the Peripatos, and this is why Aristotle’s college was called Peripatetic School. After about a year before his death, he had to flee from Athens because his enemies accused him of a lack of reverence for the gods. Even during our times such thoughts are seen differently. Just imagine during his period? He was mistreated badly hence had to go undercover from Athens. Aristotle’s works cover a wide range of topics which are relevant even during our times. His works were re discovered during middle ages by European Scholars and most importantly, as a matter of fact his work is considered only second to Bible!
South Paw
October 24th, 2010Hello friends. Let us know the reason behind people being called as South Paw. We must have seen many people using their left hand to eat, write or play cricket. But most of the world’s population is right handed. Left -handed persons form a meager population of the world. It happens due to the brain. The left side of the brain controls the right side of the body and the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body. In most people the left side of the brain is well developed making the right hand stronger than the left hand. But in some cases the right side of the brain is well developed resulting in a left -handed person. Experts say that the reason goes back to the ancient times when the wars were fought, the right- handed person would fight with the weapon in the right hand and the left hand was used to protect the left side of the body. Whereas a left-handed person would do it vice versa and get their heart wounded and die. During such times the right handed persons had a better rate of survival since their heart was protected and lived long on earth.
Yoga benefits
October 22nd, 2010Yoga through reflection works remarkably to complete harmony and helps the mind work in harmonization with the body. Stress is the number one problem affecting all parts of our physical, mental and emotional system. Yoga helps in the flushing out of toxins from every corner and cranny of your body as well as provides nourishment up to the last summit. This leads to profit such as delayed aging, energy and a remarkable enthusiasm for life. Yoga also increases the lubrication of joints, ligament and tendons. The well-researched yoga positions exercise the different tendons and ligaments of the body. And with the help of yoga this things can be cured. The meditative practices through yoga help in achieving a touching balance through detachment. Yoga is also an excellent way to tone your muscles. Muscles which have been loose and weak are stimulated repeatedly to shed excess fats and flaccidity. In fact yoga is equal to meditation, because both work jointly in achieving the common goal of unity of mind, body and strength which can lead to knowledge of everlasting bliss that you can only feel through yoga. Yoga acts in a wholesome manner on the various body parts. This motivation and massage of the organs in turn benefits us by observance away disease and providing a forewarning at the first possible instance of a probable onset of disease or disorder.
Technology
September 15th, 2010Technology is defined as the process of making human work more simple, by invention. It may also define as face lifting one method of doing. There is a increase in each and every department with an increase in technology. It’s always useful to human and also for animals nowadays. Technology makes everything simple. Technology it’s increasing mainly because each and everything is computerized. The work is made so simple with the help of computer. How it’s made so simple is you can have a lecture or discussion and also even conference of a great person live when he is another country. These are not possible in olden days. But now, it’s because of technology. In industry machine vision system is carried out to make the process more precise. It has the vast effect in every field. Nowadays when something great is achieved, this is the only line uttered in everyone’s mind, yes, “the technology has improved so much”. It is much used in automobile, medical and engineering industries. The next place where technology shines is film industry. People where able to express many things which was impossible during olden days. But now everyone is carried away by technology. First it was there in industry and now it is found in each and every home. That’s the power of technology.
Advances with Age
September 13th, 2010Technology is the practical application of knowledge and skills to make tools, machines, buildings, vehicles, and other useful things. Ancient technologies, such as shipbuilding, were crafts passed on through generations. Understanding the materials and forces used came later. Today engineers use the discoveries and methods of science at every stage as they solve problems and develop inventions. These days, businesses are more reliant than ever before on technology, to help improve communications and to maximize efficiency in the workplace. The increased use of the internet, email and mobile technology has revolutionized the way companies operate and made IT a critical factor in building and maintaining a successful company. Yet still even today too many companies think of technology as a necessary evil rather than truly embracing all the opportunities it can bring to make organizations more efficient. s a final example, think of the mobile phone you have today and compare it to the one you had 5 years ago. The functionality of that device will have changed enormously and emphasizes again just how fast technology is moving. And by the way if your current “phone” still doesn’t allow you access to the internet and can’t push your emails to you automatically, you are now already several years behind the game.
Nanotechnology
September 10th, 2010Nanotechnology, shortened to “Nanotech”, is the study of the control of matter on an atomic and molecular scale. Generally nanotechnology deals with structures of the size 100 nanometers or smaller, and involves developing materials or devices within that size. Nanotechnology is very diverse, ranging from novel extensions of conventional device physics, to completely new approaches based upon molecular self-assembly, to developing new materials with dimensions on the nano scale and even to the speculation on whether direct control of matter on the atomic scale can be made. There has been much debate on the future of implications of nanotechnology. Nanotechnology has the potential to create many new materials and devices with wide-ranging applications, such as in medicine, electronics, and energy production. On the other hand, nanotechnology raises many of the same issues as with any introduction of new technology, including concerns about the toxicity and environmental impact of nano materials, and their potential effects on global economics, as well as speculation about various doomsday scenarios. Much of the work being done today that carries the name ‘nanotechnology’ is not nanotechnology in the original meaning of the word. Nanotechnology, in its traditional sense, means building things from the bottom up, with atomic precision.
Technological Development
September 6th, 2010Technology is often a consequence of science and engineering, although technology as a human activity precedes the two fields. This new-found knowledge may then be used by engineers to create new tools and machines, such as semiconductors, chips, and other forms of advanced technology. In this sense, scientists and engineers may both be considered technologists; the three fields are often considered as one for the purposes of research and reference. The distinction between science, engineering and technology is not always clear. The use of basic technology is also a feature of other animal species apart from humans. All these little changes in mobile phones, like Internet access, are further examples of the cycle of co-production. Society’s need for being able to call on people and be available everywhere resulted in the research and development of mobile phones. They in turn influenced the way we live our lives. As the populace relies more and more on mobile phones, additional features were requested. This is also true with today’s modern media player. Clearly, regardless of goods and services bartered, some amount of technology was involved. Technology enables greater knowledge of international issues, values, and cultures. Technology can be most broadly defined as the entities, both material and immaterial, created by the application of mental and physical effort in order to achieve some value. In this usage, technology refers to tools and machines that may be used to solve real-world problems.
Pros and Cons of Technology
September 3rd, 2010When you a take a thing there is both advantage and disadvantage. Likewise technology also has some of it, which mainly destroys some humanness. Disadvantage in the sense, negative impacts of technologies. Technology, there is no stopping it, till we restrict our own desire of making everything happening by itself. Because man created it, and it destroy man in many ways and make him lazy. Technology should begin when all the human activities are stopped and when he is in idle. But it started and proceeded along when human being are active, and therefore it deactivates human. In our march to progress we have degraded the natural world. Forests are chopped down, topsoil is washed away, rivers are polluted and our waste is dumped in the oceans. On the surface this appears to be a relatively recent problem. If we went back 100 or 200 years it would seem that mankind treads quite lightly on the planet. On face value the culprit is industrial technology. However this is not the case. The culprit is our cultural vision; our cultural vision wields technology in a destructive fashion. Prior to civilization all cultures on the planet saw themselves as belonging to the world; they were a part of it. These cultures had varying degrees of technology. Some were very primitive, others quite complex. Advancement in technology has made the world go “gaga”. As far as technology is concerned, you can expect the unexpected or imagine the unimaginable. Whenever there is a technological innovation, efforts should be made to forestall its negative impacts on the society.
Wrist Watches
August 31st, 2010Hello friends, this piece of information will be very useful for people who have a very bright interest in the field of electronics. What do you know about watches? According to a popular story a Swiss watch maker saw a woman sitting in park with the watch tied around her hand so that she can hold her child with both her hands. This struck the watch maker and soon the first wrist watch was born during 1790.But no one noticed this great discovery. This marvelous idea was unused for another century and until the nineteenth century watches were carried in the pockets of vests, pants, and were tied to the end of the chain. Both the chain and the pocket were called the watch fob. In 1914 a wrist watch was exhibited in fare and people thought that it was just a “passing fancy”. Today the same wrist watch which was considered as the “passing fancy” is the world’s number one fashion jewelery. Today even an ordinary man is also able to afford wrist watches. Swiss are considered as pioneers in watch making. About eighty million watched are made and sold around the world each year. Thus watches are of great use.
